Upcoming engagements include a new production of Un Ballo in Maschera and a revival of Tannhäuser at the Berlin Staatsoper as well as the new productions of Salome at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and Capriccio with Renée Fleming at the Vienna Staatsoper.
In the 2008-2009 season, he will conduct Wagner's Ring des Nibelungen at the Zurich Opera and will continue to record a cycle of the Beethoven Piano Concerti with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and the pianist François Frédéric Guy for Naïve Records.
A cycle of concert tours will follow this recording in the seasons 2008-2009 and 2009-2010, with programs combining the Beethoven Piano Concerti with the major orchestra works by Béla Bartók.
